Shoukoffsky, Vassily Andreievitch, celebrated poet and translator, by whom the Russian public became acquainted with the most excellent European masterpieces. Born on the 29th of January 1782 in the village Mishensk in the Government of Toola, died in Baden on the 12 of April 1852.*
