Kuzma Terentievitch SOLDATENKOV Kuzma Terentievitch SOLDATENKOV (1818 – 1901) is the Moscow book publisher, major textile manufacturer.

K.T. Soldatenkov turned to the publication business in 1856 by investing there his capitals and posing exclusively the objective of enlightenment. At the first stage (until 1862, concurrently with N.M. Shchepkin) he in major part published books of the Russian writers of democratic inclination: N.A. Nekrasov, N.P. Ogarev, A.I. Polezhayev, V.G. Belinsky; at the second stage he focused on translation of serious scientific works of the humanitarian profile, such as "The Universal History" by T. Mommsen, "The Wealth of Nations" by Adam Smith, "The Foundations of the Political Economy" by D. Ricardo and of other.

book In overall K.T. Soldatenkov published 200 book titles, many of which were subjected to these or those censorship persecution, up to destruction, as occurred to "The Works" of G.Z. Yeliseev, "The Evolution of the Moral" by C. Leturno, "The Selected Fragments" by K. Rodbertus and of other.

"I from the very beginning of your publication activities was aware, that you became a publisher only because of the desire to be "useful for the other", and I always saw that in the facts of your deeds" as N.G. Chernyshevsky wrote to K.T. Soldatenkov.
